We escaped the rain and the wild mood of the Obra River and drove onto Rügen.An ancient beech forest, giant ferns, turquoise water, white cliffs, and the relaxed atmosphere of a surfers’ camp.

If I had to describe this place in a single word, it would be silence. The whisper of pines, the sound of waves on the lake, sunshine, a star-filled sky at night, and long walks through the forest.

Everything changes if you like winter hikes. Above the line of dwarf pines, the mountain turns into rock and stone, and the wind begins. Finding the right path becomes less obvious. The wind can slow you down, bury the trail, and push temperatures dangerously low.

And if someone asked what else we did? Well… we rode bicycles in the Indian Ocean 😊

We love the Bieszczady for their space - and for the walks, in all conditions. In summer, when we greet the rising sun on the trail. In autumn, when colors flood the mountains and no photo could ever do it justice. But also in winter - especially then. When it’s hard to even get here. That’s when the mountains feel like they’re truly ours.

There’s no need to stop in places like this. They set the pace themselves, so each person can feel them in their own way. Whether you paddle a kayak, practice yoga, run through the forest, or observe it from a bike - those are just forms. Each one lets you tune into where you are.

An execution cave, exploration, everyday life - off - track China Not ruins, not museums, not attractions. I wanted a place that lives by its own rhythm. A place of taste, of silence, of rare but meaningful conversations. I wanted China that smells of earth and steam rising from a bowl. The kind of China they don’t show to tourists.

It’s all here, on one island. So close to home, and yet it feels like the end of the world—in the best possible way.

Then the mountains around you appear and say: hey, it's us! We surround you with snow and wind, but we also show you our beauty... This is worth every effort, which is later associated in an extremely positive way.

Then the number of positive surprises accelerated and it stayed that way until the end.

We consistently avoided all large cities. We didn't always stay overnight totally surrounded by nature, away from everyone. There are times when it is most convenient to stay at a campsite, from which we make trips in different directions on our bikes.
